Hyatt West Hollywood
The Hyatt on Sunset was once known as the Continental Hyatt House and "the Riot House," because of the number of rock stars who stayed here in the '70's.  A great visual of that era was included in Cameron Crowe's poignant movie, Almost FamousThe Standard and The Mondrian Hotel are across the street from the Hyatt.  The Hyatt was refurbished in 1998 or so and is a very nice, reasonably priced, centrally located, place to stay.

Walking Tour of the Sunset Strip
This is where the bold and beautiful hang out.  Check out the places where you can shop till you drop or party all night, the choice is yours!

House of Blues
Set between The Standard and The Mondrian is the rocking House of Blues. Excellent dining, a fantastic bar, live entertainment & special eventsare just a few highlights of the HOB.

The Sky Bar at the Mondrian Hotel
The Skybar, a simple, tin-roofed, open-air hut supported by logs, offers the finest panoramic views of Los Angeles, which appears to be nestled in the clouds. This is one of the most exclusive, hottest bars in L.A.

Viper Room
Customers at the surprisingly small Viper Room will find themselves treated with the same professionalism and hospitality as those familiar faces of the Hollywood limelight that may be standing next to you at the bar. These character traits have set this club apart from the multitudes of Hollywood night spots, and guests here can be assured that they will leave having had a unique and memorable experience.

Dublin's Irish Whiskey Pub
On the other end of the Sunset Strip (at 8240) is one of the hottest spots in Hollywood. Dublin's, a multi-level restaurant, pub, and sports bar, is known for the cheapest drink prices on the strip,  $1.50 valet, and never having a cover charge or guest list.  L.A. Starz has spotted handsome David Boreanaz, among other celebs, at the upstairs bar.  (Note: Dublin's may have closed since this page was originally published).

Here are a few select places to visit with the family:

Santa Monica
A beautiful place to take in sun, sand and shopping.

Jerry's Famous Deli
Offers a very large and varied menu including the best chicken soup in Los Angeles!  Open late on weekends.  Very popular with locals and celebs.

Is this the most perfect bowl of chicken soup you've ever seen?
This is just an example from Jerry's Famous Deli's excellent menu.
There are so many things to do when you visit the Los Angeles area.  You can spend the day at Disneyland and Universal Studios, or the other places they tell you about in tour guides, but when you're ready to do something a bit more trendy, (perhaps without the kids), visit West Hollywood & Beverly Hills.

Here's another view from the Hyatt West Hollywood, looking out over West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
A view of the Sunset Strip on a Sunday morning. This picture was taken from a balcony at the Hyatt.  On Saturday nights,
the streets are packed with cars, limos, pedestrians, celebrities and party hoppers .
The House of Blues is across the street (under the orange sign) and the Sky Bar is atop the large while building on the left.
One of the most enduring clubs on the Sunset Strip is the legendary Whisky a GoGo, where, since 1964, the world's most famous entertainers have played and many new acts got their start. This picture of the Whiskey's entrance was taken in March 2000 when Sisqo's first solo CD, Unleash the Dragon, was released.
