SAG Awards 2003 Presenter Nominee and Guests Celebrity Gift Baskets

While celebrity gift bags are de rigueur these days, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) has thoughtfully taken the concept one step further. For the third consecutive year, SAG sponsored a series of Celebrity Gift Auctions on eBay, giving the public a chance to own the same unique items given to celebs at the 9th Annual SAG Awards™. Rare autographed items and show collectibles from nominated ensembles, including the winning casts of Six Feet Under and Everybody Loves Raymond, were also donated to the fundraiser. Proceeds from the auctions support the charitable activities of the SAG Foundation.

The first auction opened February 27, 2003 and featured the SAG Awards "Nominee Gift Collection," which included a luxury getaway package to the Lodge at Cordillera in Vail, Colorado; top quality personal care products from such companies as Anthony Logistics for Men and Cargo Cosmetics; wine from Dry Creek Vineyard; culinary delicacies from
Crabtree & Evelyn and Garrett Popcorn Shops and more.

The "Presenter Gift Collection" went up for bid on March 3. Packed in a large rolling suitcase from
Wilson's Leather, it included exceptional gifts and services including gift certificates from Americana Couture; a handcrafted wallet from Jana Feifer Los Angeles; dinner at Miami's La Palme D'Or; stays at New York's Waldorf Towers in New York and the Wyndham Bel Age in Los Angeles and a week-long getaway at the Ranchito resort in Patagonia, Chile.

Additional auctions featured the special getaways and gifts
selected by celebrity guests at the SAG Awards Backstage Talent Retreat and the SAG Awards People Magazine/Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) Gift Bag, which was given to guests at the post-awards Gala. All together, the auctions raised thousands of dollars to assist not only the acting community, but the community at large through programs like BookPALS (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools).

For the second year in a row, Karen Wood’s Backstage Creations obtained sponsor participation for this year’s gift collections and for the third consecutive year they added glamour to the SAG Awards Talent Retreat.
